We found our second project a little over a year ago, a foreclosure that had not been lived in for a year. After loving the neighborhood, seeing the potential with the exterior and yard, my husband gave the “ok” to go in! We had been house shopping for a couple months, perusing on-line and driving around our ideal neighborhoods on Sundays. After walking in, I immediately saw the potential to make this dirty old (100 years old) house our home.

Well, we have been here a year and I am thrilled to see our ideas come to life. Before we moved in, we sanded and re-did the floors (not the look we were wanting, but hoping to fix those up down the road), had the whole house including trim upstairs and brick fireplace all painted bright white, added crown molding to all the downstairs rooms (upstairs is hopefully coming soon), spruced up the kitchen & bath, and added all new windows to help with efficiency. I’ll be sharing photos one room at a time with all the details, so stay tuned. This has been a labor of love!

When we first moved in, this living room was very daunting! All of the furniture we owned was from when we were first married (5 years ago) and not one piece was comfortable or inviting. We both wanted pieces that were functional and “nap worthy”, and I wanted to make sure they were beautiful and fit our style. I love that Loren gave my decorator, Jocelyn Williams Interiors, and me total control with choosing the pieces and the look of the room. We scoured on-line, local showrooms, and ultimately found all of our pieces on a short trip to Minneapolis. This room came to life and is truly the most comfy place in our home. Oh, how do I begin…this family is very dear to my heart and not only because they are now my family, but because they all shine the love and joy of Christ to everyone they meet! Our Aunt Pam is enduring a hard battle of beating cancer and it has been awesome to see her community come together and lift her up in prayer and offer support and encouragement. Please keep Pam and her family in your prayers!

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Deuteronomy 31:6  …Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.
